ABOUT THE OPEN EDUCATION CONFERENCE

The Open Education Conference (“OpenEd”) is an annual convening for sharing and learning about open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education initiatives. This engaging event brings together over 1,600 educators and open education advocates in-person and online to collaborate, support, and drive strategies for education that are accessible, affordable, and reflective of the learners they serve.

The Open Education Conference has convened annually since 2004. Deeply rooted in the community, the conference is led by an elected board and guided by a strategic vision. The conference is organized by the Open Education Association.

The 2026 Open Education Conference (#OpenEd26) will be held virtually on October 27-29, 2026.
