  • The Open Education Conference is an annual in-person and virtual convening where educators and open education advocates gather to collaborate, support, and drive strategies for education that are accessible, affordable, and reflective of the learners they serve.   • The 2025 conference was held as a hybrid event on October 28-30 in Denver, CO and online. Save the date for the 2026 conference on October 27-29 as a fully virtual event. The conference is expected to return to hybrid in 2027.

  • The conference grows each year, with last year’s event welcoming over 1600 participants from across the globe! Attendees include faculty, librarians, instructional designers, students, administrators, and many more involved in open education practice and advocacy.

    More than 1,600 people participated in the 2025 conference, with nearly 500 in-person in Denver and the rest joining online from all 50 states and 62 countries around the world.

  • Registration has not yet opened for the 2026 conference. Sign up for updates to receive reminders.

  • The standard virtual rate in 2025 was USD $100. Discounted rates are typically offered for students and people in certain regions. Scholarships are also provided.

  • If you attended in 2025, you can request a certificate of attendance by completing this form.

  • Recordings are available to logged-in attendees indefinitely. You are encouraged to explore the recordings.
