Keynote Announcement: “Future of Open Education” Panel

The Open Education Conference is excited to share the final keynote announcement for OpenEd26. This keynote session will feature a panel of leaders from across the open education landscape, with the intention to have a frank discussion about the current state of the field and how we might work together to bridge “The Space Between” where the movement currently is and where it aspires to be. 

On the cusp of the 20th anniversary of the Cape Town Declaration, the field faces a convergence of pressures: disruptions to funding models, the rise of artificial intelligence, the expansion of proprietary platforms and new textbook billing models, and falling trust in institutions. This panel will be an honest interrogation of what open education is as a movement, what it has and hasn't delivered, and what its future can be.
