ARRIVE BY Air

Providence T.F. Green Airport (PVD)

Located just 10 miles south of downtown Providence, T.F. Green Airport is the primary airport serving the area. It offers numerous domestic flights and a few international connections.

  • Taxi/Rideshare: Taxis and rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) are readily available at the airport. The trip to downtown Providence typically takes about 15-20 minutes. Simply walk to the second curb outside of the arrivals area.

  • Bus: RIPTA offers bus service from the airport to downtown Providence. Look for Route 1, which runs every 20-30 minutes. The main downtown bus station, Kennedy Plaza, is just a few minutes walk from the Omni Providence. Tickets can be purchased online or through the RIPTA Waves app.

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Boston Logan Airport is another option that provides more direct and international flights. Logan Airport is approximately 50 miles north of Providence and can be reached by bus, train or car.

  • Bus: Both Peter Pan and Greyhound offer bus service between Logan Airport and downtown Providence. Travel times range 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours and costs typically range $15-30 each way.

  • Rail: MBTA provides commuter rail service from Boston’s South Station to Providence. To get to South Station from Logan Airport, you can take the Silver Line SL1 bus (a free service from all airport terminals) directly to South Station. The train journey from South Station to Providence takes a little over 1 hour. Tickets cost $12.25 and can be purchased at the station or through the MBTA mTicket app.

  • Taxi/Rideshare: Taxis, Uber and Lyft operate at Logan Airport and can provide direct service to Providence. The estimated travel time is around 1 hour but can vary significantly depending on traffic. Prices can range $100-200.

ARRIVE BY Ground

Train

Providence’s train station is served by Amtrak and MBTA commuter rail. The train station is located a less than 10 minute walk from the Omni Providence.

  • Amtrak: Providence can be reached from across the northeast by Amtrak trains. All Northeast Regional and Acela Express trains that run between New York and Boston stop in Providence. The journey from New York takes 3-3.5 hours and the journey from Boston takes 35-45 minutes.

  • Commuter Rail: Providence station is served by the MBTA Providence/Stoughton line and can be reached from points across the Boston metro area. The journey from Boston’s South Station takes a little over an hour.

Bus

Various bus services stop in downtown Providence within a few minutes walk of the Omni Providence.

  • Peter Pan: Offers direct service to Providence from various northeast cities, including Boston, Hartford, and New York City. Travel times vary, with one-way fares typically ranging from $15 to $25.

  • Greyhound: In addition to direct routes to Providence, offers connections to a variety of other locations.

Car
