OpenEd21 Social and Wellness Events

The 2021 Open Education Conference is just a few weeks away, and we’re getting geared up for it! If you, like us, are currently getting your schedules ready ahead of time, might we suggest that you add some of the social and wellness activities to the mix?

We know that virtual conferences can be tough. Joining some of the social and wellness activities can be a great way to have some fun, meet and chat with new (and familiar) people in the OpenEd community, and give your brain and body a break after a long day of learning!

Here’s a few examples of the activities to check out:

Speed Meet & Greet

Kick your conference experience off right with this speed meet & greet. It’s a chance to get to know fellow conference attendees that you will be seeing throughout the week.

Date and Time: Monday, October 18; 10:30am ET

Crab Cake Cooking Show

Join us as we pay tribute to our would-be in person conference hosts in Maryland! Enjoy a lesson in crab cake cooking from a professional chef and chat about technique and all things Maryland.

Date and Time: Monday, October 18; 6:30pm ET

Craft Time

Gather for a crafty break and socially work on your craft - whatever that may be - knit, crochet, paint rocks, colour, cross stitch - anything of your choosing!

Date and Time: Tuesday, October 19; 10:30am ET

Community Check-In

We’ve all been living a unique life experience for the better part of 2 years and lots of folks are working at the same time as attending the conference right now. We will be holding an open space for folks to share how they are genuinely feeling.

Date and Time: Wednesday, October 20; 2:30pm ET

Yoga (aka y-OER-ga!)

A 25-minute Zoom yoga session planned for the end of the week to refresh your mind and body.

Date and Time: Friday, October 22; 11:30am ET

Those are just some of the activities we’ve got planned! You can check out the rest of the social activities in the conference schedule. If you’re already registered, activate your account to log in and start building your schedule. If you’re not, registration and scholarships are still available.

See you on October 18-22!
