About the Open Education Conference

The Open Education Conference is an annual convening for sharing and learning about open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education initiatives. This engaging event brings together over 1,600 educators and open education advocates in-person and online to collaborate, support, and drive strategies for education that are accessible, affordable, and reflective of the learners they serve.

For more than 20 years, the Open Education Conference Community has convened annually—originally in person, now alternating between virtual and hybrid. OpenEd26 will be held as a virtual event on October 27-29, 2025.
